Johnsons Workwear Set to Open New Plant in Autumn 2021

We are delighted to announce some exciting news for Johnsons Workwear.

Over 12 months ago, we sadly lost part of our Exeter plant on Cowley Bridge Road to a fire. The decision was taken to move from the site and to search for a new place entirely.

We’re pleased to tell you that we have secured a new premises and that work has commenced on the site as we begin to build our next plant of the Johnsons portfolio. The new location is based at Matford Green Business Park, a 31,000 sq. ft building just 2.5 miles from the city centre and 3.5 miles from the M5.

When the fire took place in early 2020, we implemented our Disaster Recovery Plan immediately and are proud that our customers felt nearly no impact or disruption and as a result, commended our efforts. We have continued to operate successfully but are pleased to be moving to a permanent location.

Managing Director Helen Wood said of the move, “This is great news for the staff at Exeter and of course, the business overall. We’ll have the most up to date technology continuing to provide a local service to our customers and the team are all looking forward to getting settled in.”
